We started our business from our house in 2005, after Joanne started to sell whatever she could find in the house; on eBay. She kept bragging about how much money she'd made month after month, and I quickly became excited by selling stuff on eBay too! Little did we know that this little hobby would soon change our lives.
Styrofoam heads happened to sell quite well. Yes, you got that right, styrofoam heads, who would have thought! It is the first product that we sourced and started to sell on a regular basis. After only a few months we became, and still are to this day, the number one seller of styrofoam mannequin heads on eBay. We still giggle when we tell people we started our business selling foam wig heads!
We decided to stick with beauty supplies, which worked very well for us, and grow the number of product lines. At the same time, we increased our web presence by developing our own website and selling on the Amazon.com marketplace.
In 2008, we branded our company with the name Giell Beauty Supply, re-vamped our website at www.Giell.com, and continued to expand our products. We also took on our first wholesale accounts, which included beauty schools, salons and spas as well as resellers.
The business has grown a lot since then and we finally moved the company out of the house and settled into the beautiful Tanners Creek Business Park here in Flowery Branch, GA. We expanded our customer base to worldwide destinations, and have taken orders from more than 30 coutries in the past few years.
In short, within about 5 years time frame, our eBay selling hobby grew into a global beauty supply distribution company.
Looking back a few years, we feel great pride in what we've achieved. It is equally exciting to think about what's to come ahead.
